I can tell you all about my years in school, hours upon hours of studying and tests and the endless student loan debt to prove it. Or the countless hours of work providing therapeutic support to cancer patients and their families. Maybe it’s worth mentioning the 2 AM calls to respond to a crisis client who needs to be talked off the ledge; the literal blood, sweat and tears of working my way into the field and developing relationships with people of all walks of life, from all ends of the world. I could brag about the children who I have met while they were broken, who are now happy, successful members of our community. I could talk about the hundreds of homes I’ve entered to assist families in need or the hours spent at the hospital helping families navigate the process of getting help for a loved one. I could also tell you about the priceless hugs I’ve received from children with trauma who finally felt safe. With years of experience working in Maui, I can tell you I truly understand the struggles that families and our keiki experience on a daily basis. I also understand the impact of extreme trauma, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental disorders, stress and life’s unforeseeable events and how they affect us and those around us. While I have had experience working in other fields of work, helping, is my passion. My ultimate goal has always been to be a counselor and to provide help to those in need. Providing therapy allows me to share my experience, my education and my passion with you.
So, what is the most important part of counseling? You. You are the most important part, and that’s how I work. Regardless of what’s going on, or what your goals are, you will always be my focus. I am a no bs therapist. I will hold you accountable while also holding your hand. I will laugh with you and I may cry with you too. My job is to help you achieve happiness, balance, and peace. I am able to use different theoretical practices that align with your beliefs, goals, your culture and the tools you have to work with. Whatever it is that you need, I will be a champion for your success.
If you are questioning whether or not you need counseling or if it would benefit you, I would just point out, you are researching it and made it to this site. That might be a pretty good sign that it’s worth a try.
If you are willing to put in the work, I am with you. I will be the counselor you can trust and provide a service that meets your needs. What are you waiting for?
